                  Shirley Anne Owen

My art practice is primarily concerned with landscape within the wider context of the effects of coastal erosion and climate change.

An Arts Council of Wales funded project in 2008, to explore National Trust Sites at risk from rising sea levels, has had a lasting influence on my work. Over a period of six weeks in February and March, I travelled along the Welsh Coast making drawings and paintings with acrylic ink and paint on paper and  on unprimed canvas. A significant part of my work now consists of  large scale drawings.

I am a member of The Welsh Group and the Royal Watercolour Society of Wales.
